I don’t know how he can manage a smile with everything he has been through! Jackson is in dialysis each evening, all night long. He is on a diet that is strict, none of us reading this could stay on it!
We found Jackson in the mountains in one of the villages where we had built a school… Savaan Pit.
He was brought by his uncle to our Mobile Medical Clinic there. He was crying and said, “I want to go home with you!”
I tried to explain some things to him, but he insisted. (Faith never gives up!!) We brought him home and found Haitian doctors to help, but what he needed was a “portable dialysis machine” because the Haitian doctors could not help him.
By a miracle from God, one of our donors heard of his plight and sponsored a portable dialysis machine!
Jackson is on a “very strict diet!” In spite of all things, he is in 10th grade and making good grades!! We are thankful to the doctors in the Dominican Republic! They are the best we have ever seen! He was in the care of a specialist in the DR, and a Dominican Nutritionist put him on a strict diet, and he is doing well!!
He loves to watch soccer and is good at puzzles and dominoes! His dream is to be a doctor, like the ones in the D.R. who took such good care of him! And in spite of what he has been through, he is “still smiling!”
