This is Jean Edwouard. He has been at our Love A Child Orphanage for many years. His parents died, and he was living in Le Tant with some relatives. Jean Edwouard was their Restavec (slave child). He did lots of chores like fetch water, cook, care for younger children and much more. He wasn’t able to play or go to school. All he did was work. He was such a sad boy when we discovered him. We knew that he could not stay in Le Tant with his “relatives.” We were able to bring Jean Edwouard to our orphanage and he has been going to school since he arrived years ago.
