Jean of All Trades!

Jean of All Trades!

Jean Edwouard was raised in the village of Old Letant, a village of mud huts. We were there, in that village, when our friends at Feed My Starving Children came with us to distribute food to several villages. On that day, I noticed this small child, about six years old, making a fire, cooking food for a large family, carrying water, and doing much work. Our hearts went out to him. We knew he was a restavek slave child, working for a poor family.

I spoke to his aunt and asked if we could bring him to our Love A Child Children’s Home… She agreed. That was the day his life changed forever! He is now 19 and in 11th grade. He is one of the best students in his class. He is a professional painter, never spills a drop, and never even uses a drop cloth! He has taught himself how to sew and his dream is to become a professional tailor!! One of our partners bought him a nice sewing machine and he can repair and restructure any piece of clothing! He loves all his “sisters” at our Children’s Home and they love him because he is so kind and quiet! This “little boy” who was a restavek is now a handsome, intelligent young man. When God made him, he put all of the components inside Jean Edwouard to become a success!!! We really love him!!! Sherry
