Have you ever noticed how often the Bible talks about planting gardens and eating the fruit of them? Verses in Jeremiah, Isaiah, Amos, Ezekiel, and Ecclesiastes all talk about planting gardens so you can have something to eat. As these verses promote gardening, we notice parallels in fruitful gardening to living fruitful lives. In our gardens, we must prepare the soil, plant the seeds, tend the young, tender plants with water, sunshine, and fertilizer, and nurture them until harvest. If we do the same thing in our lives, we will reap a bountiful harvest in our living testimony to God’s goodness and love for us.
Plant your garden well and you will reap a good harvest in Heaven.
