More jobs possible for Haiti

More jobs for possible for Haiti: 1-10-18 12:00 PM

More jobs are possible for Haiti! Recently, the slaughterhouse got a real boost by a new customer bringing five special cows to be processed. These five cows are a project by John Draxton, a cattle farmer from North Dakota, to demonstrate that Haitian cattle can be improved by improving the breeding and feeding them out, as we do here in America. John’s cattle arrived plump and healthy, and the meat was well marbled. The cows were processed into delicious cuts of high-quality beef.

John wants to continue to use the slaughterhouse in our marketplace but needs some additions and improvements to be made to ensure that his improved beef can be sold to the best restaurants and markets in Haiti. This project will also provide training for new meat cutters and for marketing this new high-quality beef to the fine restaurants and markets in Port-au-Prince. John and his associate are arranging for over $100,000 of additional equipment to come to the slaughterhouse, if we can help pay for some of the expenses. We need to quickly find donors to help provide the $28,000 for us to take advantage of this great opportunity to add $100,000 of new meat processing equipment to enhance our sustainability project at the marketplace slaughterhouse. These new improvements will provide the training for more jobs in meat cutting, cattle raising and supply chain development for high-quality beef in Haiti. The market is willing to buy this product if it can be supplied. This is a wonderful opportunity for more skilled jobs in Haiti for which we have prayed. Please contact our office at 239-210-6107 to speak directly to one of our staff members about this, or Email us at info@lachaiti.org. Let us know if you can help with this opportunity. The best is yet to come! Bobby
