Jolina and her cousin, Yolanda, came to us from the highest mountains in Haiti we had worked in, Bel Fontaine. It usually took us “hours in four-wheel-drives,” and from there, we either had to walk or ride mules! It was always a “very rough and dangerous” road up that mountain. Jolina and Yolanda were cousins and were brought to us by their pastor because one of their mothers had emotional problems. The father of one of the girls had been killed. Both mothers were like sisters, and Jolina and Yolanda are like sisters also.

Jolina is a strong and tough young lady. She is 14, does well in school, and is a “leader,” but looks much older. She is in 10th grade at our Love A Child school. Jolina still wants to be a pediatrician. She volunteers her time in our Love A Child Pharmacy. She is very determined in whatever she is doing!! We are so proud of Jolina.
