Several weeks ago, the poor people of the village of Ganthier were invaded by the “gangs” of Haiti. The families grabbed their babies and children and their only cooking pot and fled to the mountains of Thoma. (Thoma is several hours in the mountains from us!!) The families had slept under trees, in school yards, and with relatives. Their biggest problem was “food.”
Our food containers carrying “Feed My Starving Children” meals were stuck in the Dominican Republic. We knew we “had to do something!” With the help of our partners, we bought “tons of food” locally… beans, rice, cooking oil, spaghetti, macaroni, sugar, coffee, and much more.
Our own Love A Child kids spent days packing the food and getting it ready for the big “food blessing” to those living in the mountains of Thoma. (We want to thank Farmer John for donating frozen chicken sponsored by Victor Marx’s organization!)
Today, we took many heavy-duty trucks (including two named “George and Martha”) and headed up to Thoma! Pastor Souffrance had already been there and given each poor, hungry mother a “food ticket!”
There were 1,000 mothers lined up waiting for huge bags of food and the box of frozen chicken!
It was an amazing “gift from God!”
We want to thank the “best partners” God could ever give us… “you!”
You made the difference! May God bless you back according to Psalms 41:1-3…
“Blessed is he that considereth the poor!”
Thank you so much on behalf of the poor.
