All our plans had changed for food distributions, due to the fact the last heavy rains washed out the roads. We decided to go to Lastik and La Roche because we had not been there for a while. We sent our team on ahead and although we could not make it to these villages due to the huge rocks in the roads, we thought we could have the people walk down to the river bed.
We sent a team ahead with Food Cards for the women, and our vehicles made it through the rocky river bed, although it was “tough!” We were bringing the Feed My Starving Children food and black beans. The Haitian poor rarely can afford beans, because they are so expensive!
We had two trucks packed with food and local security to help. We only allow women (mostly mothers) in the lines because the men cause a lot of trouble. The ladies came, joyfully!!! The first in line was an elderly woman who tightly clutched her Food Card, as if it were “life or death!” Bobby ministered the Word of God and so did “Pastor Joseph,” and we began to give the food out! It was such a wonderful blessing to the people! Everyone was so thankful and praised God!!
Then, we drove on down the river bed and had a large feeding program for the hungry children! It almost brings tears to one’s eyes, to see these children. They all sat quietly, waiting on their food, and no one dared to eat, until all the children had their food, and prayed! Then, everyone could eat!
Thank you, dear partners, for making a difference in the lives of these children!!
