Latest Haiti Update

This morning (about 30 minutes ago) we got Dieuferly and Jackson off to Santo Domingo for their doctors appointments. Jackson will be seeing his kidney specialist and Dieuferly will be seeing his doctor to set up his next operation on his other foot. Please pray that they all go well. Thank you Philimond and Joker for taking them… Jesse Ostrander is there now waiting on them.

Please pray, as they are having some trouble at the border this morning. A bus each day brings the customs people and workers to the border from Port Au Prince. Yesterday out here in our area, the 400 Mawozo Gang (Papaya Gang) shot up their bus trying to rob them. Thankfully no one was killed.

We are having to cancel our trip to south Haiti for this Monday. We were looking forward to moving some families into their new homes and seeing the others being built. We were also going to distribute a great deal of rice, beans, and cooking oil. We cannot drive there, it’s much too dangerous facing gangs before we would arrive. PTL! There are no gangs in the areas we are building the houses.

Every small plane is booked up for some time. Everyone is scared to do the drive to south Haiti because of the gangs. We will be going soon! Working on another way to get there. Hoping to put our vehicles on a boat and go there. More than one way to skin a cat.

If we had our own airplane we would have no problems today. We would fly the boys to the Dominican Republic. If we could fly our own plane it would solve many problems. Please pray the Lord will provide for a single or twin-engine plane. I have a private and twin-engine license. By faith, I see the airplane working for Jesus!!!

After much prayer, Sherry and I canceled our trip to Florida today to attend the Feed My Starving Children Conference. The road from here is much too dangerous to travel to the Port Au Prince airport. The 400 Mawozo Gang had a split and are fighting each other on top of everything else. Our hearts are sad, we love Mark Crea and all of our FMSC friends. We have been together like 18 years. We will miss them, they are doing such wonderful work feeding the hungry.
