Epi d’Or Restaurant in Miracle Market (Gwo Mache Mirak), in Fond Parisien, Haiti, is under new management and name.
John Draxton, who also runs “Farmer John’s Abatwa, (meat market), is now the Manager of the restaurant, and the name has changed to “Farmer John’s Restro Mirak.” John decided to have a “dry run,” and try out his new food menu and his serving team. He invited Pastor Claude Mondesir to bring his orphanage and staff, 100 in all! Would be too many kids, to bring ours! Ha!
We were so impressed by the delicious food and the fast, fast service! As soon as everyone was seated, out came the drinks, the boxes of food, and then, the “ice cream cones!” The servers did an awesome job! Our good friend and partner, David George was there with us, Kaeli, our missionary, and our local security guards. We all had a great time!!! We laughed and ate and had fun, watching the children and adults enjoy this delicious food! We had pizza, smoked chicken, smoked ribs, beans and rice, pasta, drinks, other Haitian foods, and ice cream!
You can see a picture of Bobby and a lady who works for Pastor Claude, age 60. She had NEVER had ice cream in her life! So, we got her another!!! Apparently, most of Pastor Claude’s children had never had an “ice cream cone!” They were licking the ice cream and trying to save the “cone” to take home to be used for a “cup!”
Jesus said, “When you make a feast, don’t invite your rich friends, because they recompense you. But invite the poor, the blind, the lame because they cannot recompense you… but God will recompense you!”
Thank you, David George, for sponsoring this meal for the children and Pastor Claude’s workers… and thank you, Farmer John, for this delicious meal, and all you did! The food was the best!
