It’s hard to imagine that this cute little boy with the big smile on his face was a small malnourished child. Less than a year ago, Mackenson was a small child when he arrived at our mobile clinic cradled in his father’s arms. Mackenson was suffering from kwashiorkor when we found him, which makes the body swell and can cause death.
