Good news! On our food post from yesterday morning, we said that we had a $10,000 matching gift if others would give this amount. Praise the Lord! Others matched it! Thank you to all of you who helped. We love you.

Next week we will be purchasing as much food (beans, rice, cooking oil) as possible in the Dominican Republic to bring back to Haiti to help in this food crisis, which is due to all of the many problems in Haiti. Our hearts go out to the families, especially the children. P.S. Some of you have asked about the violence in Haiti and how we will distribute food during the chaos in our area of Fond Parisien. The people know us in our area. We feed people each month in five of the roughest areas here, but we can also safely get the food to the people far in the mountains that are about an hour or so from us. The mountain people are sweet and there are no problems in those areas. In some of the worst areas, our Haitian staff and local security will proceed “with caution.”
