This morning, we were ready to send Lionel to the hospital in Carrefour, Haiti, which is many hours from us, for surgery on his hand. As you may know, we brought Lionel to our orphanage when we found out that his father had “held his hand in boiling water” because he was angry with him. The police had found him in the street and brought him to us.

But as our truck was getting ready to leave this morning, one of our workers stopped our truck to warn us that there were dangerous problems in the Marrtissaint area of Port-au-Prince en route to the hospital. We had to post-pone for today.

This is what we missionaries go through every day. We never know when it is safe or unsafe. No wonder it is difficult to find those who want to give their lives on the mission field of Haiti. Sherry
