Thank you! Yesterday we had $575 come in toward school supplies. We are believing the Lord for the balance of $6,075. I’m so sorry to ask you. The month of August has been the lowest month of donations in several years. We have never seen anything like it.

I am sure you know that the school date has been pushed back and forth a couple of times by the government. Our local schools here will start on the 14th of this month. Originally, we were scheduled to start mid-October. This is a problem because we need to purchase these items now so the kids are ready for school in a week or so. It is somewhat of an emergency situation because many of the kids do not even have a belt or shoes. They have outgrown them or have worn them out.

I am believing God that we can raise the funds with enough time, but I want you to know that we need to make a move quickly. Jesse and I can purchase everything in Santo Domingo. We could leave here on Sunday or Monday and be back in a few days with everything we need for the start of the school year.

Below is a general list of the needs for the orphan children to attend school. These items are needed immediately because of the change in the start date. We also have our college orphans preparing for college.

– Backpacks – both girls and boys
– Yellow socks – girls
– Blue socks
– White socks
– Yellow ribbon
– Black school shoes – boys
– Black school shoes – girls
– Underwear – boys
– Shirts – boys and blouses – girls
– Panties – girls
– Bras – girls
– School supplies (notebooks, paper, pencils, sharpeners, etc.)
