Kidnapping update: We were praying and believing for our four college children and our employees to be returned yesterday. One person is from Dr. Ted Higgins’ the Higgins Brothers Surgicenter for Hope hospital, which is just down the road from us. We were disappointed they were not returned.
Please, we covet your prayers. Sherry and I have never been through agony, sadness, and discouragement like this. Yet, I can’t even imagine the horrors and fear that our children are facing every day and night.
Update on the 28 containers:
As you know, Port Lafito has our 28 containers, along with everyone else. With the gangs outside on the road, it is impossible to bring a container out without it being stolen and robbed, most likely the driver kidnapped. We want to move all of our containers from Port Lafito by barge to a port in Port-Au-Prince. This is a massive undertaking. Each container weighs thousands of pounds with our Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) meals on board. A large crane must lift each container, one per day, to put it on the barge.
We must pay $900 per container to ship on the barge to Port-Au-Prince. We have shipped two already! And, we need 26 more containers moved. Haiti is in the worst food crisis I’ve ever seen in my life.
Your help will help us together to get food to the families who are hungry.
Thank you to some of you I saw on Facebook yesterday who wanted to help.
Love you…
Bobby and Sherry
