The medical crew here in the Dominican Republic is active again today. I am here with three strong boys: Lionel (Yonel), Jackson, and Daniel. We also have four Love A Child nurses with us.

Yesterday, we met with the surgeons that are going to operate on Lionel (Yonel). We spent yesterday bouncing around Santo Domingo, getting things done so that Lionel can have his surgery tomorrow.

Today is more of the same. We started off the day early by going to a lab to get his blood work done for Jackson and Lionel at about 6:00 this morning. Today Lionel will see the lung doctor and a pediatric cardiologist. He needs to be cleared so that he can undergo anesthesia tomorrow morning in the surgery.

The hand surgeons will try to separate his thumb from his fingers. We are praying for life in his fingers. They are not sure that the tissue is completely alive. But we are praying for the best.

This afternoon, Daniel will have the first of his appointments this week. He is seeing a pediatric ophthalmologist. We are going to try to determine why he is having so much trouble seeing out of his right eye. Actually, both eyes have difficulty, but the right one is very poor. He is actually almost blind in that eye. So they will try to determine what they can do for him.

While Rose and I are with the boys driving all over the city in the famous Santo Domingo traffic, the other three nurses are busy with training every day. Polynese, Katty, and Tuta are getting certified in peritoneal dialysis so that we can have more nurses that are readily available to care for Jackson.

Today will be another long day; please pray for success.
