Our first orphanage in Haiti was in an area at the foot of Mt. Noire. We had a small orphanage then, but that’s how we started. One day, a poor lady came to our gate to get food. She said she had been “sleeping with her small son” on the street. We began to give her and her little son, “Little Carlos,” food. Eventually, we ended up bringing them into our orphanage. We gave Madamn Jan a job.
Little Carlos began to grow and grow!! When he finished High School, he went to the D.R., but his mother remained with us. A while ago, the Dominican Republic started deporting all Haitians it could find, and it still is!
Today, Madamn Jan is still working for us, and Carlos is helping us with Food Distributions and working with “his brothers” in their business. We love having the “family” together!

P.S. Little Carlos is not little anymore!
