All I Want for Christmas is…

We just wanted to bring everyone up to date on “Little Samuel.” (We call him Little Samuel because we have “two Samuels” at our Love A Child Children’s Home.) This Little Samuel is four and “smart as a whip!” He is in Pre-school but makes very good grades. He is quiet (most of the time) and obedient!

We recently had some scary times with him because he was very ill with stomach pains. It was on a Sunday that he was screaming and crying and had not “gone to the bathroom” yet. We called our doctor who said, “take him to the hospital, just to be safe.” They kept him overnight and gave him some medicine and sent him home the next day.

He got sick again, and we sent him again… They gave him some medicine for his bowels, and now, he is doing much better, but we have had this problem with him before. Anyway, he is sweet and lovable and never gives us a problem (well, hardly ever!) Samuel’s mother was one of the many mothers who died in childbirth, whom we have taken in. We can only imagine how poor mothers in Haiti die each day, in many parts of Haiti, when they give birth. We don’t know the numbers, but they are enormous!

Little Samuel loves soccer, and loves trying to work in the garden! He also loves, “singing in church,” but as you can see, he is missing “two front teeth!” Now, we know what he “wants for Christmas! Ha!”
