Living Lives of Purpose…

Living Lives of Purpose…

Recently, a donor and close friend was telling me how she loves reading about the many victories and great results of our “Development for Sustainability” outreaches, where we focus on equipping and empowering Haitian people to take advantage of opportunities to develop new skills to improve their lives. At our Gwo Maché Mirak Marketplace, there are now opportunities for many sustainable businesses. The employees and customers of Farmer John’s Butcher shop at our Marketplace now have opportunities for sanitary, quality meat for their families, and as small businesses re-selling this meat. And the staff and students at our Agricultural Training Center (ATC) now have better lives because our teaching and training are having many great results for many families. Now, the merchants at the marketplace, and the staff at Farmer John’s and the ATC all have new lives of “purpose,” to use their new skills and opportunities to provide for their families and community. We love knowing how these people have better lives now because they have a new “purpose” enabled by the opportunities from our “Development for Sustainability” projects. “Purpose” is very important for having a quality life. It is closely related to “hope.” The medical community has shown us that patients with lives of “purpose” heal faster, are generally healthier, and are happier. Because you are reading this, you must have “purpose,” too. Your purpose is to care about and help others. We thank you for your “purpose,” and we deeply appreciate your partnership with Love A Child. Together, we are claiming many victories for God in Haiti. Let us pray the prayer of Jabez that we can expand the territory of our tents and expand these programs throughout Haiti to get more breakthrough “blessings.”
