Lomene… From a restavek slave child to a professional cook! Just look at little Lomene! This little thing is studying to be a professional cook! She is in her second year of college and “loves” making special dishes!

When we first saw “Lomene,” she was wearing a ragged dress, cooking for two large families, and washing pots and pans. She was a “restavek” slave child. When a child loses both parents or even just their mother, the child will be sent to a family member to work, and work hard! They will never go to school and never have a full plate of food. They will often be beaten or “suffer the consequences of being a young girl with an older man!”

That day when we saw Lomene doing the work of two families, we knew the Lord wanted us to rescue her. She has been with us ever since! We know God has something special for her! Thank you, partners.
