We are so proud of all our Love A Child kids. Even though they have been raised in an orphanage, they just always felt that they were in a “big family!” We first saw Lomene when she was a little girl working for two large families. Little was known about her, but the system in Haiti is that when parents die, the child has to go to work for a family. She had no education, nothing.

We took her in, put her in school and then she went to college to become a professional cook. She was going into her second year when the gangs came into the areas of their college and we had to bring all the kids back. She is working in the orphanage kitchen with NiNi, our cook! She is “doing what she loves!”
