Love A Child Response Team

Dear Friends,

The poor of Haiti seek out a living each day. They are just “trying to survive,” one day at a time. One of the ways they try to feed their families is by working in the dangerous mines that frequently cave in. They are trying to get limestone to sell. When they keep “hacking and cutting into the sides of the mountains,” they take the chance every day that the mines will cave in.

This video just happened a day ago. Jesse Ostrander, who is one of our missionaries, has been coming to Haiti with his father, Mark Ostrander, for many years. Jesse had been working with our Haitian crew on the “staff housing” for our clinic when he got the call that a mine had caved in. The people were begging to get the bodies, or body out, for burial.

Jesse organized our team with Carlos and Joker on the heavy equipment and Dieuferly (one of the older kids who grew up in our Children’s Home), along with Watson as cameramen, and went to film the chaos…it was life-threatening. Just watch this clip.
