Our sweet little “Lovely” is growing up! It seems like yesterday, that “Madman Cheap Cheap” met with me to tell me about a baby that had been abandoned by their father. Madamn Cheap Cheap was a dear Haitian lady who sold souvenirs to the missionaries who came to Haiti (Apparently, the mom had HIV or something other and died.) I am not sure if Madamn Cheap Cheap was a relative, but loved “Lovely.”
All her life, Lovely has had terrible health problems but she has definite faith in God! She loves to sing and dance and is an excellent student.
One night, when the children were having their church services here in our cafeteria at the Love A Child Children’s Home, I heard Lovely downstairs, “preaching!” She was standing on top of one of the tables, just “letting the devil have it!” She was telling everyone that “Satan is a liar and I’m going to be healed!” I will never forget it!
Lovely is 18 and wants to be an “advocate,” (lawyer). When I asked her “why,” she said, “I just want to defend people.” I said, “Jesus does too… he is our advocate!”
If you ever thought about investing in the lives of our children, check with the Love A Child office and ask for Rad. He will tell you about our “College Fund.” God bless you, Sherry
