Our Haitian kids give each other a “nickname.” No matter what it is or how “insulting” we may think, the Haitian kids just “laugh about it!” Lucson’s nickname is “Big Ears!” Lucson and his parents lived high in the mountains of “Covant,” our village that is the most difficult to get to!
Lucson’s mother died of the “childbirth” fever, as so many others do. His father could not take care of another child… especially a new baby! Lucson was just four days old when he was brought to our Orphanage.
He is a quiet kid. He loves school and reading! He is a “brilliant student” and will go far in life!!! This little “shortie” knows “many Bible verses” and loves to sing! Loves “basketball!”
His chores are normally “yard duty!” His favorite toy is the “remote car” he got for Christmas.
Lucson is now 11 and in 6th grade.. he’s a short little guy! Everyone loves him! We do, too!
