This is Mackenson and he is a “miracle,” as many of our orphans are “miracles.” He had severe kwashiorkor malnutrition and his arms and legs were swollen and “splitting open” with fluid when he was two-years-old. He had no hair, and was very lethargic. I remember his father bringing him to our clinic, and holding him gently in his arms. I knew this child would die without help…so we took him in. He went through many treatments of having “water” drained from his body and it took a lot of love and care, but today Mackenson is a sweet, kind little boy, doing very well in school and loves Jesus!
