I’m sure you all remember Mackenson from here at our Love A Child Children’s Home! Mackenson’s story is incredible.

Bobby and Sherry brought Mackenson down from the mountain of Covant. He had the worst malnutrition and was suffering so bad! He then got the right medical treatment and became just like all the other children. He was playing soccer and running around just like a normal child!

One day about a year in a half ago, Mackenson woke up for school just like any other day! He led the morning devotion with his brothers and sisters here at the Children’s Home and went on to school! About an hour after Mackenson got to school I received a call from his teacher saying he was very sick! We immediately got him to the clinic but had to transfer him to a hospital in Port Au Prince. Hours later we got the news that Mackenson had a stroke. He had never had a sign of any complications and we were all caught by surprise.

It took Mackenson a months stay in the hospital to recover. When he came home, he still could not talk and he was still in a wheelchair. Slowly, he started being able to talk, and he then became able to walk again. Mackenson never gave up in his faith and read his bible every single day. He is still going to therapy every week but is doing much better!!! He is now back to playing soccer, which he loves to do!!

Can you imagine going through all of this at such a young age? I am so amazed by Mackenson’s faith and strength to keep going during all the hard times!

We love Mackenson so much, and we know God has such good plans for his life!
