MAP International’s Medicines Help Louizimene

MAP International’s Medicines Help Louizimene

Mrs. Gerilus Louzimene, 49 years old, has seven children. She comes from Thoman, high in the mountains, and lives in a rock house with two rooms and nine people. When she is well, she raises a garden with her husband. Mrs. Louizimene has been sick for two months; she suffers from breathing difficulties, her feet are swollen, and her belly is swollen and hurts. She feels pain in her heart, has daily headaches, cannot go to the toilet, cannot stand or sit, can only lie down, and even turning around is impossible. She cannot eat.

She never tried to go to the hospital until, finally, she could no longer get up. This morning, she came to our clinic accompanied by her husband, Estivene. We sent her to the Emergency Room so that she could receive rapid care.

She has never been to the hospital because she does not have any means of payment. It is after much persuasion from her husband that she was able to come this morning. She tells us that with all this pain in her body, she feels discouraged by life. She needs medical assistance and emotional support to help her get out of this life of suffering.

At our clinic, we told her that she had to pay nothing, that she would receive all the necessary care, and that she would have medication without paying a penny.

And taking a deep breath, she tells us: “I do not know what Love A Child can do for me because we do not have the means to do anything. I told my husband to let me die because they (LAC clinic) cannot do anything. While I am saying this, the water cannot stay in my eyes; I think of the children. It cannot be useful to them.”

While she is sick, she feels that she has a great weight on her shoulders, she feels weak, she can no longer go on. But we let her know that we are there for her and that we help people who are going through the same situation as her. We do everything we can and leave the rest in God’s hands. We told her she must come to each appointment every eight days. We gave her Diclofenac, Vitamin B Complex, Iron Folate, Furosemide. What makes her most happy is that she leaves with all her medications without paying a cent.

This morning, our emergency room was very busy. Still, this lady’s case is very critical and could be treated because we had the medicines she needed, thanks to MAP International.

We will never stop thanking MAP for the medications they provide us that allow us to save lives. Poor people really need your help; thank you.
