We are so blessed to have Doug and Jessica Lackey join us here at Love A Child in Haiti. They have been partners with us for years. Doug has been in the ministry as a pastor and evangelist since 1988. His gift is “soul-winning” and helping the poor. He understands a lot about construction and works closely with Pastor Mark, who is over all of our building projects. He also ministers sometimes at our church here in Haiti and loves helping in our feeding programs. He also dearly loves our “sustainability projects.”

Jessica has a degree in psychology and minored in criminal justice, but her number one love is Haitians, especially our children here at our orphanage. She loves helping in feeding programs and is looking forward to our Mobile Medical Clinics. Jessica loves to see the children, especially the older ones “growing up inside Love A Child” and reaching their potential. She has a great heart for children who have been abandoned, abused, and rejected. She has been such a great blessing to us, and all of the children love her.

Together, Doug and Jessica have four grown children. They realize how hard it is to be a missionary and “leave loved ones behind.” It is a great price for all of us, and it is not to be taken lightly. We ask all of our missionaries to make a commitment for one year, and then we pray that they can stay longer. Doug and Jessica have left much behind, including good-paying jobs.
