Memory Tags

We are living in a day and time when many young people do not respect our fallen heroes, especially those who saved lives and put themselves in danger to rescue someone, even those who have given their lives for our freedom.

We have received nice clothing before for our children and other children here in Haiti, but these donations were “different.” Each shirt, each pair of pants, each pullover, had the name of a fallen hero or president marked on a little white tag, and the tag attached to each shirt and each pair of pants. The “person or persons” probably wish to remain anonymous, but I am showing you some of the handwritten tags to recall heroes of many years ago to the present day. There were too many tags to show you, but the thought behind this so deeply touched my heart. The box was labeled, “Memory Clothes and Tags.” These were mostly boys’ clothes, but some of the girls could wear them, and our children loved them.

I don’t know if the person or persons who did this are reading my post, but I just want you to know that this really, really touched our hearts and the hearts of our Haitian children. God bless you, my friend, for doing such a thoughtful thing, especially at this time when so many people are full of hate. In the middle of this was your “act of kindness.” It still shows us that “love rules!” May God bless you and thank you, from our children! Sherry
