I can remember the first time we saw Miliana. We were getting ready to film one of our “Love A Child” TV programs. I looked across a “muddy ditch” filled with water, and I saw a little girl chewing on a ribbon on her sweater… and felt I should take a look at her. I called her to me and I began to see “growths” sticking out all over her body! They looked like little “tree trunks!” We asked her relatives if we could take her with us to see if we could find a dermatologist to help.

We did get her to a good doctor, and he gave her some shots, but said. “You will never be able to remove all these growths because they will grow right back!” We have done our best with Miliana, but unfortunately, she will have these growths on her arms and legs “all her life.” She is a devout Christian, makes good grades, and you would think she is shy, but look out. Ha! She can be a “tough-ee!” We all love Miliana!
