This little boy broke our hearts. His poor mother brought him to our Mobile Medical Clinic in La Roche, Haiti… and you would never guess what his problem was. When the Haitian doctor examined him, he called me over yelling, “Madamn Sherry, this little boy has been eating rocks! He needs to see a doctor for X-rays to determine if he can pass all the rocks he has eaten.”

The doctor told me to put my hand on his side and said, “Feel the rocks.” I was shocked! His mother said he had been eating rocks for a long time because he was hungry, and that she spanked him but could not stop him from eating rocks.
