More Food for Hungry Haitian Families

More Food for Hungry Haitian Families

We began feeding three new villages in the Fond Parisien area yesterday. Fond Parisien is a HUGE area and spreads up to the mountains and further out towards the Dominican Republic. There were three villages that needed food badly: Nan Gaya, Sou Moulin, and Nan Plezi. Here are some pictures from those distributions…

I am not sure if you have ever been hungry “to the point of not knowing where your next meal will come from,” but it can be frightening. Parents sometimes resort to “selling a child to sugarcane workers” in order to buy food for the others. Some parents make their children drink “saltwater soup,” and other parents buy “mud cookies” for 2 cents so their children can eat. They drink water so that the dirt cookie will expand and make them feel hungry.

Hunger is a terrible thing and Haiti is in a “hunger crisis.” The “love of God” constrains us to “feed the hungry.” We were “out of food” for a while, and we had to buy this food in the Dominican Republic in order to help feed these villages. This food was “over and beyond” the food that we normally receive from our friends at Feed My Starving Children, but it was a lifesaver! We want to thank all of our friends and those who gave large or small or widow’s mite to help us with this food, as well as helping to bring in the Feed My Starving Children food, which is coming in today.

God bless you and “thank you” from “your neighbors” in Haiti.

P.S. Special thanks to our Haitian workers. They love feeding the poor, and we have been “empowering them” to go out and feed these villages to help us. Thank you, Berry, Ezekiel, Abjas, Stanley, Dieuferly, James, Brizi, and others, along with all our local security. Tomorrow, they will be giving out food in some “tough and dangerous areas” that need security, and Saturday we have 93 organizations that will be coming for food; half of them have orphanages.
