I remember the day a frail little mother brought a baby to me. The mother had no money for milk, and she already had “too much on her plate.” I looked at her as tears were in her eyes. She loved her baby, but “a poor mother, raising a baby in Haiti,” can lead to malnutrition and death. She made a “hard choice.” She asked us to take “baby Nasline,” and we did.

Nasline is tiny but tough. She is a fighter and a hard worker. When she makes up her mind, nothing stops her!!

She is now 14 and going to 9th grade!! Although she’s tough, she still loves dolls and jump rope!
