This is little Nazalie, but we call her Rachael, also. Her mother brought us to her when she was just an infant, because the baby was always sick and she had other children and just could not take care of her. Rachael turned out to be a beautiful, sweet little girl. But, she recently developed a bad head fungus/impetigo type problem. One of the room mothers kept putting medicine on her and kept sending her to the skin doctor, and it was costing a lot of money. So, I said, “Let me try.”
I have always kept some of that yellow sulfa powder and mixed it with ten parts lard. I keep them in jars. But, some of you said to add “triple antibiotics and anti-itch meds.” I mixed all that together and added anything else I could find!! I made the mothers wash her head each evening with some betadine and soap and put the mixture on her to sleep with it and washed it everything morning. Her hair is growing back healthy and strong!
Her mother comes to visit her. Nazalie is doing well in school. She is in 2nd grade. She is ten, but tiny for ten! She works hard at the Love A Child Children’s Home, studies, and makes excellent grades. She is on the Praise and Dance Team. All she wants to do is dance! (smile) She is a keeper! We love Nazalie, (Rachael)!
