Our Agricultural Training Center in Fond Parisien (ATC) has developed and conducts three-week classes in sustainable agriculture. We have already held four of these very popular classes and will hold more of them next year. This class is another sustainability program of Haitians helping Haitians learn and adopt new skills for self-reliability. These valuable three-week courses have brought students from various cities and villages all around Haiti. The students must be sponsored by either Love A Child donors or other organizations. These sponsors understand how the new gardening skills will benefit entire communities when the students return home to demonstrate and share the life-saving gardening methods they have learned. In the photos, you see a group of new students (blue t-shirts) at work in the field and also sharing classroom time with our more advanced, two-year students (grey t-shirts). The students stay together in our bunkhouse studying, living, working and fellowshipping together, as they learn ways to have a better life for them and their families.
