Eight-year-old Widelande is just one of the “silent majority” of Haiti’s children who wake up every day hungry and go to bed “hungry.” Each day is filled with long walks to find water, hours of looking for pieces of wood to sell, going to the garbage dump to try to find empty plastic bottles to sell, or a discarded piece of moldy bread or a banana peeling to eat. As a Christian, each day our hearts should be open to hear “the cry of the poor” and then, to obey what God wants us to do. Sherry
