She is “always happy,” “always laughing,” and “always up to something.” But if you had seen her the day she was brought to us, you would have thought she would not live.
It is a long story but her mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother were heavily involved in Voodoo. While conducting a Mobile Clinic in that village, her mother came to us near death. We did what we could, but we knew there was nothing more we could do. Knowing she was not a Christian, we prayed with her and she accepted Jesus. We left the village and she died 12 days later “in the arms of Jesus.” Her father brought Kristela to us, covered with sores and suffering from Malnutrition.
It has been a joy to raise Kristela. She is finishing her schooling and then, Lord willing, she wants to be a physical therapist. She has creative ability and leads the Praise Dance Team! She brings great joy with her smile! We all love Kristela!
