Since our orphan kids are on vacation, in the afternoon, they usually play “dominoes!” Haitian kids are really “serious” about those dominoes! They have a table downstairs where they play dominoes, but I can hear them from the top of the stairs!
When Haitian kids play dominoes, they “slap them hard” on the table! In some villages, the one that is winning puts a clothespin on the guy’s face… his ear, his forehead, wherever! I have seen “many clothespins sticking up on guys’ faces,” especially in the village of “Old Letant!!”
Haitian kids play tough! They do not want to lose!! Well, as long as I hear “dominoes being slapped hard on the table,” I won’t worry about them!! I know exactly “where they are and what they are doing!!” Ha!! When I don’t “hear dominoes,” I check to see where the kids are and what they are doing!! I’m getting used to that “sound!!” It’s a “good sound,” it means “we know where the kids are!”
