For our older college kids, there is no place around here where they can go to have a little break. They cannot go to Croix-des-Bouquet or Port-au-Prince to go shopping or to a movie, due to gangs, kidnappings, and killings. There are no restaurants here… nothing to do to get away for a few hours. So, they decided to go to the lake that is between Haiti and the Dominican Republic, about four miles from us. They cooked special foods, brought cokes, and got “all dressed up” to go to the “lake.” George, one of our older boys, drove the bus and we left “strict instructions” for the older boys to keep an eye on the sisters, ha!

These older children are good kids! They all have work to do here at our Love A Child Children’s Home, and in the meantime, they are on computers searching for a “partial college scholarship” in some countries like Canada. (We had to pull all of them out of college after four of them had been kidnapped in December.) They have to be back at 6:00 p.m.! Raising 85 kids takes a lot of patience, wisdom, and love. That’s why we are “Love A Child!”
