Stephanie is the “baby sister” of Georges! Their father and mother had a large family and the mother had asked us to take Georges because “she could not feed another child.” But, she soon got pregnant again, became very ill, and died. That’s when we took Stephanie in.

Stephanie is a hard worker! She has finished two years of college and wants to go back and finish one more year. She also does administrative work in our accounting office. She and her fiancé “almost got married” about a year ago, but they had some things to work out first! Stephanie had a baby boy after that. Her fiancé, a really sweet and kind young man, had been going to college to become a lawyer but had to drop out due to the gangs. We hired him because we needed someone to fill a position. In the meantime, Stephanie took in a “homeless baby girl!”

Hopefully, the Lord will help them get a small home so that they can get married. (In Haiti, all Haitians think you must have a house before you get married. They do not usually “rent” as they do in the States.) Stephanie has lots of “spunk,” even when things seem to be against her! She’s “one tough cookie,” and we love her!”
