I just heard some singing in French as I passed over the stairs here at our Love A Child Children’s Home. Madamn Raphael is teaching French to different classes of our children. While their main language is Creole, they need to speak French to get a good job. And colleges here speak French. Some colleges won’t allow any Creole to be spoken, so French is important.
Ginyia, Ti David, Lucson, and Betina are “getting it,” but Wiggins (Jacque) and Nelson are in “la la land”! Oh well, they’ll “straighten up” when school starts back in about a week! There’s never a dull moment here!! Ha!
By the way, Haitian children learn language very quickly! We have children who speak English, French, and Spanish along with their Creole! They learn languages faster than you or I! Haitian children are precious and always hunger for education! We love them!! Sherry
