Our Children Are So Worried: 2-14-19 6:00 PM

Finding the words to write this post is harder than some of you may think, but here I go!

This picture was taken two nights ago after everyone had fallen asleep. With all of our children here at our Love A Child Children’s Home seeing all the problems throughout Haiti, you could easily see the stress and worry in their eyes. Most missionaries are evacuating, and a lot of their fear was that “we were going to leave them.” After a long talk about how Bobby, Sherry and I are here, and we are not leaving them, things eased up a bit. The girls and I decided to have a “girls night.” We piled into one room, made pallets everywhere, and just enjoyed each other’s company. As the kids started falling asleep, and with the sound of the Christian music still playing in the room, a sense of calmness came over the room. It reminded me of the family that we are. We stick together through the toughest times; we love each other and help one another through it all. During this night, something happened that I will never forget. As I told the kids we were here and not going anywhere, one of our girls (who never gets emotional and is always the “tough” one) said, “Oh, thank you God” as she wrapped her arms around my neck with tears in her eyes. The feeling that the children must have to see their country in such turmoil must be so scary! We stick together, and we are family! Love, Kaeli
