Living in Haiti, a country dominated by gangs is very difficult. It’s not only “trying to stay out of the gang areas,” or “how to figure out how to buy food, when you have to go through gang areas,” but also “how to get a child to the hospital, when you have to go through gang areas.”
Our college kids face great challenges now, and others will face challenges in the future! Several have finished three years of college, but needed to return for their last year, like Fabienne, who has been studying to be a dental hygienist, or like Jean Gardy, who has three years already as an accountant, James, also studying accounting, and Stanley, three years of engineering. Our college children are sad and depressed because now, their college is closed due to gangs. They are in a bad position because other colleges will not accept papers from a college that has closed! They are praying about what to do.
Haitian children love “school, and love college!” Education is their “way out of poverty!” They say, “Our only hope is in the Lord!” They either have to quit and get a job, or go back to college for four more years, which costs a lot of money. Haiti is not an easy place to raise children, who have “big dreams.”

P.S. If you would pray with us, that the Lord would give our children “divine direction,” it would mean everything to us! We have “crossed a lot of rivers, climbed a lot of mountains, and faced a lot of giants!” Our faith is in the Lord! Thank you so much. God bless you.
