It seems like yesterday that her poor father brought her to us, asking us to help her. She had gotten injured by a huge pot of boiling water her mother had put on a charcoal fire to make rice. The little girl must have grabbed the side of the pot and pulled it over. The boiling water poured onto her melting her neck and chest area. She was taken to the “General Hospital” for the poor but never sent to a “burn center.” By the time she was brought to us, she could not raise her arms above her head or turn her neck from side to side. She had to make many trips to the Shriners Burn Center for skin grafts to be able to turn her head and lift her arms up! When she finished High School in Haiti we sent her to Jamaica because she could speak English and not French. She is studying administration. She loves the Lord and God has His hand upon her.
