Jackson… It seems like yesterday when we were conducting a Mobile Medical Clinic deep in the mountains, when a young boy appeared with a huge, swollen belly. He could barely walk! He had the biggest, swollen stomach I had ever seen! This comes from Kwashiorkor malnutrition. This type of malnutrition is worse than Marasmus, the malnutrition with skinny, thin babies. In the case of Jackson, he was on the verge of death… and Haiti could not help him. He was in need of a special diet, special doctors, and special dialysis nightly. For several years, he has been seeing doctors in the Dominican Republic, but now, the D.R. has closed its doors to Haitians. So, we are doing the best we can for Jackson. The doctors in the D.R. call from time to time to check on Jackson. He is a brave, young man who really loves the Lord! He loves school more than anyone I have ever met! Prayer is the only thing keeping Jackson alive! Please don’t stop praying!!! God bless you.
