Yolanda Burnette is 13 years old and in the 8^th grade. Wow! These kids are growing up! I can remember it like it was yesterday… A poor mother, Marie Elmise, who attended our church in the mountains of Covant, had given birth to a baby girl. (Many Haitian women die during or right after childbirth due to complications and infection.) Her father, Jean Estima, was unable to care for her because he already had six children. He brought her down to us and we took her in. Yolanda loves music and is learning the drums. (Heaven help me!) However, she is very good at drums, loves music, dance, and is a great student!! Yolanda wants to be a pharmacist, and she will make a good one!!! We love Yolanda so much!!! Sherry
