Our precious Dimelia (Dumolia) is in college in Jamaica. She could not go to college in Haiti because she could not speak French well enough. Dumolia was brought to us by her poor father who lived in the mountains. When Dumolia was small, she accidentally pulled over a huge pot of boiling water. It scalded her from her neck, down to her waist. She had been taken to the “poor people’s hospital” in Haiti. They did not do skin grafts. When she was brought to us, she could not turn her head nor raise her arms. We sent her back and forth to the Shriners Hospital in Boston. She learned English quite well. So, when it came time for college, we had to send her to Jamaica to an “English speaking college.” She is happy with college and her church, that she really loves! We pray that we can find a good plastic surgeon in the Dominican Republic to hopefully help with her surgery. Dumolia is sweet, caring, and compassionate. We love her so much.
