Dumolia (Dimelia) was brought to us by her father when she was very young. Several years prior, when she was very young, she had fallen into a large pot of boiling water, perhaps to make rice. She was “melted from her neck to her waist.” She could not turn her head or lift her arms above her head. Her scar tissue covered her neck to her waist!
We sent her back and forth for years to the Shriners Hospital in Boston. She had so many skin grafts from all over her body to replace the scarred tissue. This went on for years. In the meantime, she was doing school lessons in English. So, when she returned to Haiti, we had to find an English-speaking college. Since we knew many Christians in Jamaica, we decided to send her to college there. She has now completed two years of “Business Statistics, Introduction to Management, Introduction to Macroeconomics, and Entrepreneurship.” She will be entering her third year in college!! Whew! (I can’t even pronounce most of those words, ha!) We are so proud of our “baby!” She loves the Lord and He has great plans for her.
