We took Fabienne in when she was very small, about 5 years old. Her mother was a single mom, and she was having trouble “making ends meet.” So, we took Fabienne into our orphanage and put her in kindergarten. She has “grown up,” in our care. When we had dental teams, she loved to volunteer.
Last year, she finished three years of college to become a dental hygienist. She and other children had come home (to our orphanage), for a few days during the Christmas season, when they were attacked by gangs and kidnapped. They were finally released after two weeks!
Now, Fabienne and other students cannot return to their college to finish their last year, because gangs took over and those colleges closed down. They cannot even get the paperwork needed to transfer to other colleges. They are trying to decide what to do… it is so sad. They feel they have no future. Their only choice is to start all over again. Pray for Haiti and for our Haitian children, please, Sherry
