We found “Ti Mika” when we were taping for our television program in the village of “Madamn Bauje.” As I was waiting for Bobby, I noticed a dirty little baby girl who had been put on the ground. The lady who put her there was obviously her Grandma, and later she came back, and in her hands were a few grains of rice. Grandma gave the baby the rice and walked away. I talked to someone in the village who explained that the baby’s mother was dead, and with no father around, the Grandma was left to raise the baby.
We asked Grandma if we could take her home… and she said, “Yes… Yes.” Years later, I heard that Grandma was dying. I went to see her and took a beautiful picture of Ti Mika with me… Grandma smiled as tears rolled down her face. “Now I can die,” she said. Ti Mika will be in High School this fall. In the summer, she volunteers at our “Jesus Healing Center Clinic.” She’s a sweetie! God bless our partners.
